Looking for self catering on Exmoor? Deep in the heart of the Exmoor National Park, our self catering cottage is just five minutes from the sea. Trentishoe is a very rural location and is an ideal location where you can experience Exmoor in all its glory but remain close enough to visit the famous landmarks such as Challacombe, Tarr Steps, Lynton and Lynmouth and a host of other locations within easy distance.
Our self catering and self contained cottage is part of a grade 2 listed 17th century stone farmhouse and has been renovated to provide all the comforts of home, with comfort and convenience.
The setting around Trentishoe is very rural the ideal location for pursuits such as walking, cycling and horse riding. Most outdoor activities are catered for and we can advise where to look to find the kind of thing you are hoping to find.
There is space in the barn to keep bicycles, surf boards and top boxes etc, where there is also a washing machine. Wireless Broadband connection is possible. If any of the family or group wishes to put up a tent, there is plenty of space to set up a camp
You may not have come to Devon before but whatever you are hoping to do, you’ll find it within easy distance. You may just want to relax in which case there are a host of quite Exmoor villages to explore and quiet unspoilt Devon pubs to suit all tastes.
Exmoor, the National Park in Devon
Exmoor has been a National Park since 1954, and the area has been organised in a way that retains the wild beauty of the area whilst making it accessible and enjoayable to the visitor. On Exmoor there is such a variety of landscapes to enjoy, which range from the quite pastoral to the wild and rugged. In fact the Exmoor coast contains some of the highest cliffs in the UK.
Exmoor caters for a wide range of outdoor activitiessuch as walking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, canoeing and fishing, amongst other less strenuous actiovities as sight seeing, photography, landscape painting.
In its maintenance of Exmoor the National Park Authority has created an effective but unobtrusive network of of paths which make the walking, cycling and horse riding activites so enjoyable.
For the fishermen on holiday there is great sea fishing off the shore or on one of the many very reasonable escorted boat trips available all along the coast.
